For this assignment I wanted to experiment with color and movement. I paired these two figures which I drew from online images and formed them very loosely like a gesture drawing. I just kept layering colors and lines to create definition and movement. This drawing took me about 40 minutes to complete.
Sam, an overlapping and ambiguity between the figures would have made for a more dynamic composition, filling the page maybe even cropping them so they are not so predictable.
I agree with Lucy that having more figures overlapping would create a more lively piece as they would look like they were moving. I do think that your use of color does give energy and a sense of movement that feels appropriate for dancing figures.
I love your use of color. I also really appreciate the shape of your strokes as they imply movement. I agree that repetition would have made the drawing even more lively.
