  1. Your color range is fantastic! I am surprised that it is a gouache painting- there is a great amount of texture and richness of pigmentation that I assumed was of oil paint. The way that the backgrouund melds into the foreground is particularly intriguing and almost reminds me of emerging from water, but reflects some of the olive tones represented in the skin.

Your technique of coloring is impressive! when I tried to color the skin I often felt hard to pick the right range of color, but your colors harmonize with each other even with a variety of ranges. I could see there’s a reflection of the blueish background on both sides of the face, and you also add a pinkish tone to your cheek. But those colors do not stands out, the merge into the neutral skin color. I also like the gradient effect on the back ground.
